UKPMS/Asset Management Consultant
To be based at Blackburn preferred or Sheffield
The principal function of the role involves the provision of specialist advice and guidance in the areas of UKPMS, Asset Management & Asset Valuation, and the derivation of strategic asset development plans. Other functions of the role include:
- product implementation/consultancy
- contributing to pre-sales activities

Application Support Consultant
The company has vacancies for Application Support Consultants within the Customer Services team, based at our Dunstable, Bedfordshire office.
The principal functions involved in this role include:
- Telephone and email contact with customers, dealing with both specific queries regarding the functionality of Symology's products, and providing high-level advice on how they may best be used to fulfil objectives.
- Maintaining customer records, including hardware/software installation and network details.
- Assisting with the Quality Assurance testing of software, prior to release to customers.
- Understanding customer software requirements, and controlling the issue of licensed software, including third-party products.
- Assessing where customers would benefit from additional Symology products and services, and updating the appropriate Account Manager.
- Producing product-related material to assist customers in the effective operation of the system.
The successful candidates will have the ability to contribute within these activity areas, together with the enthusiasm and commitment to extend their skills base throughout the Customer Support team functions. A capability to work both individually and as part of a team is required. First class communication skills, written and oral, are essential. Technical Support Consultant
The company has vacancies for Technical Support Consultants within the Customer Services team, based at our Dunstable, Bedfordshire office. The principal functions involved in this role include:
- Assisting users in the implementation of the advanced technologies which are utilised in the operation of Symology’s products, including central server systems, web services, mobile devices, GIS and product integration.
- Providing technical advice and guidance to customers in relation to ongoing operations.
- Creating and updating technical documentation for both internal and external use.
- Assisting in the configuration, administration and support of internal computing facilities and the hosted services that are provided for customers.
- Providing technical advice to other consultants and customers, in relation to hardware and software specification, for both pre- and post-sale situations.
- Keeping abreast of changes in technology relevant to all aspects of the Company’s business.
A capability of dealing with Windows desktop and server operating systems, and associated networking, is essential for this role, whilst knowledge of Oracle and Unix would be advantageous. Successful candidates will be able to work effectively as part of a team, and be willing to take individual responsibility for achieving specific results where appropriate. Excellent communication skills are required, together with attention to detail and an aspiration to achieve perfection.
Technical Systems Administrator
The company has a vacancy for a Technical Systems Administrator, based at the company's head office in Caddington (near Dunstable), Bedfordshire.
The successful applicant will provide internal first line support for all corporate software systems and hardware. The scope of the role is significant and will require training in a number of areas.
Along with the other members of the technical team the applicant will assist users to ensure that they have the appropriate environment in which to work.
The keys areas of involvement will include:
- Providing hardware and software support for all corporate servers, desktops and networks. On occasions this may require liaising with third parties to achieve timely resolution.
- Set-up and support of all internal computer related services. This includes the acquisition, build and roll-out of both desktop and server systems.
- Monitor, maintain and ensure continuity of Company wide services. This will include amongst other items, Networking, File Services, Email, Anti-Virus, Internet client access and backup systems.
- Patch Management for all 3rd party software applications and desktop/server operating systems.
- Monitoring and maintaining hardware including the implementation of a hardware replacement policy, OS Upgrades, OS Installation and configuration.
Technical Implementation Consultant
The company has a vacancy within the Technical Implementation Team in our Dunstable, Bedfordshire offices.

Customer Support Operator
Following the award of a prestigious new contract for the operation of a system to control road works throughout the whole of Scotland, Symology Ltd are recruiting IT Help and Support Desk staff for their new offices at Glenbervie Business Centre, Larbert (near Falkirk).
The successful applicants will provide telephone, e-mail and online help and support services to Symology customers in Scotland, and in particular to Scottish Road Works Register users. Experience and knowledge of IT systems gained from working in a similar environment is highly desirable, although full training will be given. Formal qualifications or experience in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
In addition to IT skills, the selected candidates will be expected to develop comprehensive knowledge of roads authority and utilities street works operations. Training will be provided at Symology offices in the Dunstable area and at Larbert, and applicants must be available to attend training at either location.
Software Developers
