The iPAQs have proved reliable and the Insight mobile Condition Survey software is very easy to use on-site, while back in the office transferring data to and from the mobiles is a quick and simple operation.

We are now carrying out our Highway Safety and Street Works Inspections using Mobile Devices. The result is that orders can be generated from Safety Inspections much more quickly, allowing repairs to be completed promptly. This helps us improve public safety, defend insurance claims & keep us on track to establish a full Asset Register.
Our inspectors carried out over 4,500 Street Works Inspections in 2004-2005. Prior to the use of Mobile Devices these had to be manually input & filed. We can now concentrate that staff resource on monitoring incoming notices.

With the success of Symology systems since their introduction in the County, it was an obvious choice to replace the existing Street Works system with the Insight module.
