Traffic Management Act - Web Services Seminars |
|
To help customers face the challenges of the new TMA EToN 4 requirements, Symology Ltd is running a series of free TMA Web Services Seminars.
The events are to be held at the following locations:
The seminars have been designed to provide information to users regarding the new requirements for Street Works noticing introduced with the new Code of Practice.
The objectives are to enable users to work out their current position in relation to the statutory obligations, and what they need to do to get to a position where these requirements are met.
Furthermore, the seminars will provide users direct access to our Symology experts to decide site specific implementation strategies to meet these obligations.

Introduction/Overview |
|
New statutory regulations for the management and control of highways operations come into force on 1 April 2008. These have far-reaching effects on both statutory undertakers who carry out works in the highway, and street authorities with Network Management duties.
One area with major technical implications is that the new regulations introduce Web Services as the notice transfer mechanism. This demands the implementation of new technologies and possibly new hardware which can have a far-reaching consequence on a site’s infrastructure. Aside from the impact on local infrastructure there will be an increased emphasis on the monitoring and management of exceptions.
|
Objectives |
|
The new enhanced Insight system being provided by Symology already provides the platform for introducing the controls that are needed to meet the new regulations to send / receive notices via Web Services transactions.
It is the intention that these seminar sessions will replace the need for customers to take site-specific consultancy services to discuss their Web Services Implementation strategy. If customers cannot attend one of these free events, but they still wish to discuss these areas, then the only alternative is to take advantage of our technical consultancy services.
|
Target Audience |
|
The workshop is principally intended for management or IT staff who are in a position to influence the policies that will be adopted within the organisation to achieve TMA noticing compliance. It is not intended for Street Works Operators and the seminar content will not cover any Street Works functional training.
Attendance on these seminars is not required if the user is subscribing to the Insight Gateway Online Hosted Web Services solution.
